Building love stories through providing novel support to patients, family, and caregivers impacted by ALS and other motor neuron and tangled neurological diseases.
We are two people who never believed that we would find true love. We were stunned and shocked when we met and immediately fell in love...and so were our family and friends!
We are business minded Christians who desire to help others be their best self and know love of life, of others and of Christ. So when Rick was diagnosed with ALS, we started thinking about how we could make a difference. Our first thought was a foundation that reflected our love and passion.
My maiden name initials are ALS. Rick would joke and say yes, 'he had ALS and it was me.' We never claimed ownership of ALS or used it to describe us; it was just a diagnosis of a condition. So, when we were deciding on a name for our foundation, we thought A Love Story was a great play on the initials and best fit us holistically. We never thought that alovestory.com would be open for purchase. Amazingly though when we called and spoke to Mr. Love (no joke), we found out it could be ours. Hence launched the concept start to our new foundation journey and the continued saga of our love story.
Rick is leading and guiding the foundation from home in heaven while I am leading and pursuing efforts here with those that need much loving support.
We are still living a love story!!!
